| Working on my own web platform here - web development project management... It seems like ANYBODY can write a blog here; need to be registered first (and approved by the administrator), of course. And make sure to check off the Blog Entry Attributes at the bottom, before saving it. Particularly Who should be able to see this blog entry; e.g. it can be set to Everyone, and anyone (public) will be able to read it, or it can be limited to Only Registered members of this website; the third option is No one, if you wish to keep your blog to yourself until it's completed, or forever, if you want to keep it as your private diary / journal of a kind. |

Competition vs. Collaboration

I'm reading this article - Medical Research and Open Source: Competition Trumps Collaboration (By Jack M. Germain, LinuxInsider , Part of the ECT News Network), and I'm thinking...
I've never liked this competition thing anyway..."Haven't you heard - the evolution's over!" - someone said, I think in a song.
And we are not animals any more; we're humans, and we should start behaving like ones - humane!
Yes, maybe (just maybe) the development of the civilization wouldn't have been that fast (too fast perhaps), but wouldn't have been so stressfull either [without competition].
Imagine inventing things out of pure curiosity (and not for mere reward) and through friendly communication with other humans in the society - now, that's what I call humane!
